Inner Journey Counseling Services
Why Counseling?
Counseling works because of what the therapist and client do together—not because of the therapist’s "expertise" in fixing the client's thinking processes, in interpreting or re-interpreting their life experiences, or in teaching them behavioral options.

Meet the Therapist
Evelyn DeJesus, MSW, LCSW
Evelyn DeJesus, (please, call her Yeye!) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Qualified Clinical Supervisor and Certified School Social Worker. Yeye is a graduate of Jane Addams College of Social Work, where she received her Bachelors and Master of Social Work. She holds a Level I and II Professional Certification in Trauma and Resilience and is an instructor for Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Behavioral Health. She has worked in the fields of children and families, law enforcement, corrections, schools, child welfare, domestic violence and community mental health. As part of her private practice, she also provides mental health services to veterans through the Community of Care Program. Currently she is working on post graduate studies in Somatic Healing through Somatic Experiencing International.
From the time she was a little girl, she knew she wanted to be in the healing and helping profession. Her love and passion as a healer have been taught and handed down to her from a long line of ancestral healers. Her vocation has landed her where she is at today, as a mental health therapist within her community.
Yeye's love and passion for the performing arts in dance and theater afforded her the ability to provide social justice awareness to various groups and communities and she continues to use body awareness as a means of healing trauma.
